Found Dead 22nd November 2013

Faye Isaac (39) was found dead on 22nd November 2013 in seafront public toilets in Brighton, East Sussex. She was homeless.

Timothy Smythe (52) from Brighton admitted manslaughter at Lewes Crown Court on 13th June 2014 – seven months after he was arrested and charged with manslaughter in November 2013.

Ms Isaac was found dead by a cleaner in the Colonnade toilets in Madeira Drive, Brighton, just before 10.50am on Friday 22nd November 2014.

Following Ms Isaac’s death Detective Inspector Wendy Burton, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have used the toilets between 9am and 11am on Friday or who may have any information about Faye and in particular where she was and what she was doing in the hours before her death.”

Smythe previously lived in Glenwood Lodge in Grand Parade, Brighton, and Percival Terrace in Kemp Town. He will be sentenced at a Newton hearing on Monday 6 October. Newton hearings are held after a defendant is convicted when the prosecution and defence evidence differs.
